Alright, ya’ll! This is an overdue post. So, grab your bibles, grab your journals, get some tea and let’s chat, and have a real heart to heart. As you read this post, I’ll be saying ‘us’ ‘we’ or the like, quite often mainly because I’m sitten’ here right with you going along this entire journey. Since we’re having a heart to heart, I want to be frank with you and give you the scoop about my sex life…. so, getcha tea girl! There’s no proper way for me to open, so imma just dive in! I was that girl who was 16-18 and was physically still a virgin. Proudly I would proclaim that I’m not having sex until I was married yet, take full advantage of my no curfew restriction. There were many nights where my girls and I would either host kickbacks or go to one. There would be plenty of drinking, smoking, and sexual conversations. Now, this post ain’t about drinking nor smoking so we’ll leave that part of my past alone mmkay 😉. Anyways, though I was still physically a virgin, I engaged in a plethora of mentally sexual acts. I mean girl my mind was so ratchet, so when I did start having sex, it made it that much more, easier. I mean, off the jump my favorite saying was ‘whose son is about to get tonight!!’ (ya’ll, on the low I had a ‘hit list’) – this went on for a good year and a half close to two. Girrrlll, I was a hot mess, from messing with my friend’s ex to my friend’s son… okay, I know that sounds messy, so I’ll give myself the benefit of the doubt and say I didn’t know years later I would become friends with the mother of someone I ‘messed’ with. Anyway, as I continued in my extended recreation, I found myself face-to-face with my Savior as the accuser of this world stood before Him. The adversary claimed I was caught in the physical act of adultery – I was. Now child, I know you might be lost so I’ll cue you in. John 8:1-11 talks about how a group of men found a woman in the very act of having sex… well, the Bible says adultery – but we’ll just say baby was having sex and busting it wide open. Now, Jesus heard all that the men had to say about her behavior, and he responded by saying ‘he who is without sin cast the first stone.’ Clearly, her accusers were not without sin so, one by one they all left the ‘crime scene.’ When Jesus saw that her accusers were gone, He told her He won’t hold her accountable but do not sin anymore. Now, I never said this in public before, but when God saved me, He saved me just like this woman. One night, He dealt with me concerning my sexual behavior and INSTANTLY I was free from adultery. I sinned no more. Over the years the Lord dealt with me mentally and spiritually. I needed my soul repaired. -- Many times, we have a desire to be married and, in a relationship, yet we carry the residue of our past. We carry the spirits, behaviors and lustful ways of all individuals we’ve ever been yet. Good goes beyond the sex and looks that the fragments of the men or women that we’ve been with. These fragments are left as deposits within our own soul. Should we ever have the privilege of a God-ordained marriage, we must be thoroughly cleansed of the spiritual residue from the men in our past. Being cleansed from the leftovers of men we’ve dealt with, will require a repentance heart. When we repent, we are to turn away from the lust of our flesh and say no to sin. Saying no is not always easy especially since we live in a world full of sin. To the world, sin or to be frank adultery – sex outside the confinements of God’s intention which is marriage between 1 man and 1 woman – is the new norm. It’s common for the community to go against God’s will so living a repentance lifestyle is getting harder. Therefore, we must implement Godly tools to assist us in our journey. If you know me, you know I love to give tips and ideas on assisting you in your walk with Christ. So, let’s hit five tips. By no means, are these tips the end all be all, only what helped me along my walk. Tip # 5. - Prayer & Fasting When it comes to deliverance and walking in the freedom of the Lord, there are some things that need prayer and fasting! Matthew 17:20-21 Tip # 4. Watch your Intake / Eyesight For this tip, I want to ask you, what are you indulging in? what are you allowing into your spirit? What are you allowing into your heart? Should you desire to walk in full and total freedom, you must watch what you put into your spirit. When you wish to have a healthier lifestyle, you watch what you eat. Therefore, to attain a healthier spirit, you must be mindful with what you are feeding your soul. Matthew 5:28 Tip # 3. Meditate on God's Word When choosing to Seek God, you must be intentional about seeking Him. This will require daily meditation of GOD’s WORD. Allow His scriptures to come alive in your soul and sink into your heart. The more in you ingest His word, the more you’ll be formed into His image. Psalm 63:1-10 Tip # 2. Seek 1st Seek FIRST, the kingdom of God and all His righteousness will be added to you. I want to encourage you to seek Christ. As you seek Him, seek Him with a whole heart, and without a hidden agenda or intentions. Which means, don’t seek God for substances, or you’ll miss God. Seek God for His love, for His righteousness and to be complete and whole in Him; all the other stuff will come at its appointed time. Matthew 6:33 Tip # 1. You are an Ambassador Remember, your time here on earth is for ONE reason. You’re an ambassador of Christ which means your time here is to be an example of Christ. All that you do and say should magnify our Father to the highest degree, so be mindful. 2 Corinthian 5:20 Dear Heavenly Father, In Jesus’ name, I acknowledge that I have sinned. I ask that you forgive my sins and trespasses. Lord, I also ask that you help me acknowledge You in all that I do. Jesus, I ask that you come into my heart and be Lord over my life. Father, your Word in Romans 10:9-10 says, ‘that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that YOU have raised Him from the dead, then I will be saved.’ So Father, with my mouth I confess and with my heart I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead so that I may live. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen. Lastly, if you said this prayer and have dedicated your life to Christ (or back) by faith you are saved! I would love to hear from you and help keep you accountable in your journey. Click HERE to share the good news! 😊
